In 1919 a small group of farmers established Cellers de l’Arboç, located in the small village of l’Arboç, in the Penedès area.

The cellar was located in the center of the village and was built following the modernist style, typical from the period.

The Cellar started to vinificate the typical grapes from the region macabeo, xarel.lo, parellada, mainly for the cava, but also for still wines, and later it started also the vinification of chardonnay, cabernet sauvignon, tempranillo and merlot for the wines.

It was considered one of the first winery to elaborate and fermentate the wines at low temperature in the Penedès. This technique allows the wines, for Cava and for still wines to keep the fruit, the freshness, and the Mediterranean aromas and has a good result to reach a higher quality after the second fermentation.

Nowadays, Cellers de l’Arboç is formed by about 400 members who take care of roughly 1.000 hectares of vineyards. Through the years, Cellers de l’Arboç turned into a more professional winery. It was in 2006 when the cellar changed its location and switched into a new building much more modern and with the last technology. This great investment turned into a change in its operative strategy; before that, Cellers de l’Arboç was mainly oriented to sell bulk wine for Cava basis, to the main producers in the appellation.

At the new building, they decided to elaborate Cava and wines, under their own brands and sell them around the world. This change allowed the cellar to play a leading role in the elaboration and production of quality wines in the appellations Penedès and Cava.

Recenty, Cellers de l’Arboç has been certified under the quality system (food safety) in accordance with the requirements of the ISO 22000 : 2005.
